a race based on merfolk.
The Merrow are solitary oceanic carnivores, know to hunt merfolk and, occasionly, lure humans into the deep waters for food.
The normaly solitary merrow gather togeather once a month to exchange information, news, gossip, stories and to re-establish territorial boundries. Merrows are hermaphordites and the beginning of spring is breeding time for them, they'll gather then in the warm shallows to interact and mate.
they bear live young, normally one child but twins have been know to happen and they'll remain with their 'mother' up untill they reach sexual maturaity and can hunt on their own (Round about the age of three or more).

Interesting creature... I'm only familiar with mermaids and mermans. So this design is new to me. Very fantasy-like.

Thanks Rina! :)
The merrow are, originally, a type of irish mermaid. The females were said to be heart stoppingly beautiful while the males were ugly and hideous creatures. If a man could steal a merrow woman's cap she could never return to the sea and he could then marry her.
